Bills QB Nathan Peterman getting reps in ‘ghost town’ Buffalo

And then there was one.

Bills rookie quarterback Nathan Peterman is getting in plenty of reps under center while fellow signal-callers Tyrod Taylor and T.J. Yates rehab from concussions, though being alone makes for an awkward situation at practice.

“I think they had me pretty good, outnumbered three to one, with the coaches,” Peterman said, via the team’s website. “Definitely different, being a little ghost town out there. I missed Tyrod and T.J. both. We have a good time out there. So hopefully they’ll get back quick.”

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the deal is worth $16 million and will pay Wood an additional $5.275 million in 2017. Wood received a $6.5 million signing bonus and is due a $1.75 million roster bonus in the next week as part of his $14.2 million in guarantees.

“You’re always hoping to get it done as quick as you can,” Bills general manager Brandon Beane told the Buffalo News. “Contracts happen when they’re supposed to. This afternoon, things came together with he and his agent and we were able to get it done and get it inked before we got on the field tonight.

“Eric’s done a great job since he was drafted here in ’09. We think he’s still playing well. We think he’s a leader up front, not only on the O-line but on the offense. He’s a guy that we feel is part of what we’re doing going forward and he’s going into the last year of his deal so we wanted to get something done.”

Wood, 31, has spent his entire eight-year career with the Bills after being selected in the first round of the 2009 NFL Draft. The Pro Bowler played 59 consecutive games, including nine starts last season, before suffering a season-ending broken leg against the Seahawks in November last year.
