The Pittsburgh Steelers are guaranteed a rematch in the divisional round of the playoffs, but quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has a preference on whom he’d like to play.
I’ll give you guys one guess who you think I want to play, he said Tuesday in an interview with 93.7 The Fan.
Roethlisberger was referring to the Jacksonville Jaguars, the team he threw a career-worst five interceptions, including two pick sixes, against in a 30-9 Week 5 loss.
Obviously any game that we’re going to play — since it’s the postseason — is going to be a difficult opponent, but I think just for me personally I’d love to just prove that five interceptions wasn’t me in that game, he said.
Limited Youth Igor Larionov Jersey Roethlisberger said Tuesday that the Steelers will spend a portion of each day this week preparing for each potential opponent.
Limited Youth Ivan Rodriguez Jersey O’Brien has one season remaining on the five-year contract he signed when he took over in Houston in 2014. O’Brien said he and McNair are now focused on making sure that whoever is hired to replace Rick Smith as general manager shares the same philosophies he does. After the Texans’ season-finale loss on Sunday, Smith announced he is taking a leave of absence to help take care of his wife as she battles breast cancer. Smith will retain his title as executive vice president but indicated on Monday that the Texans could name a new general manager while he is gone.
I think the big thing for me, and I think the big thing for the McNairs [owner Bob and his son Cal McNair] … is alignment, O’Brien said. Being aligned philosophically on what type of team we want.
